The candidate for president of Flamengo , Maurício Gomes de Mattos (MGM), published a video on social media to refute statements made by the current president, Rodolfo Landim. Landim, who supports Rodrigo Dunshee as his successor, stated that the other slates would be against the construction of the stadium, while only Dunshee's slate would support the project. MGM, however, did not let the statement go unnoticed.
In the video, Maurício Gomes de Mattos highlights that he supported the purchase of the Gasologista land, remembering the historic vote in Gávea. Furthermore, he displays photos from when he delivered his study to the Flamengo to Marcos Bodin, the current person responsible for the stadium project. MGM emphasizes that several ideas from the document prepared by its team are being used in the current development of the stadium.
“The truth always appears. Landim says that the opposition party is against the Flamengo stadium. The truth is that, with the responsibility and authority of those who commanded the most complete study, Maurício Gomes de Mattos supported the purchase of the Gasologista land in the vote”, begins the video.
“And he made his study available to Flamengo, even handing it over to the vice-president of equity, and now and now candidate for vice on the Landim ticket. Our ideas are so good that Landim has even started using them. And now you mean to say that we are against the stadium?”, says the video.
What Rodolfo Landim said
In the middle of the video, an excerpt appears in which Landim, from inside a car, makes the following statement: “The stadium will belong to Flamengo, once built. The big problem is that the opposition groups are against the stadium. Our party is in favor.”
MGM connection with Embassies and Consulates
Maurício Gomes de Mattos has a close relationship with Flamengo's embassies and consulates, having served as vice-president of these associations. He was one of the organizers of several meetings with these institutions, which continue to take place. Recently, Landim participated in one of these events with his candidate, Rodrigo Dunshee, and Wallim Vasconcellos, while MGM was also present, posing alongside the opposing party in search of votes.

Flamengo said goodbye to the Women's Copa do Brasil this Wednesday (17), after a 1-0 defeat to São Paulo, in the quarterfinals of the tournament. After the final whistle, striker Cristiane spoke out and made harsh criticisms of the refereeing.
Flamengo's Cristiane, after elimination from the Copa do Brasil: "It was biased refereeing"
"Everyone saw today's match , no need to even talk about it. The refereeing was biased, and it also went wrong in São Paulo's favor. But when the refereeing ends up deciding the match, it gets complicated . I don't know the choices made for a game as big as this, Flamengo vs. São Paulo," the player declared.
She continued: " Unfortunately, today had a big impact on us . We've made significant progress compared to the beginning of the year, that's clear. But when the refereeing has a direct impact, it gets difficult," Cristiane concluded.
The first half of the derby was evenly matched. São Paulo started better, but after 20 minutes, Flamengo began to control possession. Even so, neither team managed to score before halftime . In the second half, the São Paulo team came back with more intensity and capitalized on a defensive lapse. Duda Serrana appeared unmarked to score the winning goal and secure the tricolor's place in the semifinals.
After being eliminated from the Copa do Brasil, the Meninas da Gávea return to the field this Saturday (20), for their debut in the Campeonato Carioca, against Búzios, at 3 pm (Brasília time). Flamengo is the current state champion and holds the hegemony in women's football in Rio , with eight titles won so far.
