Flamengo is getting closer and closer to getting its own stadium. After the land was expropriated, the Rio de Janeiro club's board of directors is now aware of the date on which the Gasometer auction will take place and the minimum value for the bid.

Rio de Janeiro City Hall published the notice for the land auction, which is scheduled for July 31st, at 2:30 pm, in the CASS Auditorium (Centro Administrativo São Sebastião).

The minimum bid to acquire the land will be R$ 138.2 million . There are obligations that need to be followed for whoever acquires the land, one of which is the use of the space as the construction of a 70,000-seat sports facility.

Flamengo intends to build a stadium with between 75 thousand and 80 thousand seats. According to the bidding process, Rubro-Negro has to present the project within 18 months, and execution would have to take place within 36 months, but the deadline can be extended.
